“潮起万江”公共雕塑艺术装置位于广东省东莞市万江区首铸万科广场，位于宏远路，港口大道和鸿福西路三大主干道交汇处。装置是针对场所而设计的，能够对当地的源远历史和文化环境做出回应。
设计团队期待通过该装置，唤起人们对空间的体验式感知以及唤起万江当地人文元素，以雕塑为手段在地域性与人文之间进行情感性的交流，从大自然中汲取灵感“水”，将灵感转译为雕塑语言。
这座雕塑长17.5米，宽8米，高9米。设计试图打破传统雕塑做法，提取万江地区的“水”元素，将浪花的自然形态抽象转译成雕塑的基座造型，基座表面由波纹不锈钢制作而成，能够反射光线，光影的流动感尽显结构和技术的美感。基座将周围环境和人物通过意想不到的角度镜像反射出来，从而共同形成了一种出人意料的多层次的反射空间，同时在地面形成波光粼粼的“光河”。
装置上部由上万根杆件组成的异形白色框架，进行了大量的风载力学核算和结构加固工作，保证了装置的稳定性和安全性。装置上部白色框架造型提取了万江区位的轮廓并进行了艺术化的设计，内部安装了1000多片直径210毫米的圆形不锈钢风动片，并由100多根直径8毫米的不锈钢棒支撑，风动片背后加以定位装置控制其旋转方向，当风吹过，风动片反射的光影形成一片流动的蓝色光海，同时金属的碰击声也编制成一首风的乐曲。风动装置整体轮廓提取了万江地区河流的水浪形态，旨在反映装置的在地性，增强场所感。字体分块错层，把字体分解开摆放在不同的层次，抽象地构成完整的“万江”字体，从每一个方位都能呈现主题文字，激发人们的好奇心。
装置落成后，吸引了众多居民，老人小孩以及游客争相参观合影留念，去感受它巨大的基座下开放的空间体量。通过“潮起万江”强化城市的文化记忆，凸显城市的文化面貌，扩大城市知名度和美誉度，唤起当地居民的荣誉感与归属感。
"Chaoqi Wanjiang" public sculpture art installation is located in Wanjiang District, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It is located at the intersection of Hongyuan Road, Port Avenue and Hongfu West Road. The installation is site-specific and responds to the local history and cultural environment.
The design team looks forward to using this device to evoke people's experiential perception of space and the local humanistic elements of Wanjiang. The sculpture is 17.5 meters long, 8 meters wide and 9 meters high. The design attempts to break the traditional sculpture practice, extract the "water" element in Wanjiang area, and abstractly translate the natural form of spray waves into the sculpture's base shape. The base surface is made of corrugated stainless steel, which can reflect the flow of light and light Show the beauty of structure and technology. The pedestal mirrors the surrounding environment and characters through unexpected angles, thereby forming an unexpected multi-level reflection space, and at the same time, a sparkling "light river" is formed on the ground.
The special-shaped white frame composed of tens of thousands of rods on the upper part of the device has carried out a large number of wind load mechanical calculations and structural reinforcement work, ensuring the stability and safety of the device. The white frame shape of the upper part of the device extracts the outline of Wanjiang location and has an artistic design. More than 1,000 circular stainless steel air blades with a diameter of 210 mm are installed inside, and are supported by more than 100 stainless steel rods with a diameter of 8 mm. Positioning devices are installed behind the wind moving film to control its rotation direction. When the wind blows, the light and shadow reflected by the wind moving film form a flowing blue sea of light. At the same time, the impact of the metal is compiled into a wind music. The overall contour of the wind-powered device extracts the water wave form of the river in Wanjiang area, which aims to reflect the locality of the device and enhance the sense of place. The font is divided into blocks and layers, and the fonts are decomposed and placed at different levels to form a complete "Wanjiang" font abstractly. The theme text can be presented from every aspect, which stimulates people's curiosity.
After the installation was completed, it attracted many residents, elderly children, and tourists to take a group photo to take a picture and experience the volume of the space under its huge base. Through the "tide rises Wanjiang" to strengthen the city's cultural memory, highlight the city's cultural appearance, expand the city's popularity and reputation, and evoke the sense of honor and belonging of the local residents.
